The congressional "Super Committee" is due to vote on proposed legislation to meet a $1.2 trillion deficit reduction goal on November 23. If approved, legislation will be submitted to the House and Senate on December 2nd. Sen. Patty Murray (WA) Co-Chairs the committee and is the only member from the Northwest. Given the large budget targets and the short timeframe, it will be important to watch what areas are targeted for reductions as there will be very little time to provide feedback to our lawmakers before the deadline for final votes on December 23. HIMSS Advocacy at the national level has a concise and informative website on this topic here.
