The national HIMSS Health IT Policy Update last week had a short article on recent Oregon laws impacting health care. SB 99 is of significant interest to the HIT community in that it establishes the "Oregon Health Insurance Exchange Corporation" along with a call to implement necessary electronic information exchange and consumer tools (a benefits calculator was specifically mentioned).
